Meet the Team
Pickleball skill level: 3.1 on the courts, 5.0 in our hearts
Jon Martinez
Jon wears all the hats at Tipsy Pickle - general manager, handyman, teacher, vibe manager - but what he’s most passionate about is creating moments of magic for guests and helping his team grow. He pushes staff to master their skills and become the best version of themselves while they’re with us, leaving the world a little better than they found it.
His go-to order is a Nitro Cold Brew and a Big A** Breakfast Burrito with steak. If Jon were a pickle, it’d be spicy and crunchy, as they all should be. His super useful and impressive skill is that he has an oddly heroic ability to open jars when no one else can. Off the clock, you’ll find Jon running (yep, by choice), camping with his dogs Rye and Goose, or wrangling his squad of nieces and nephews back home in Georgia.
Walk-up song: Right Above It by Lil Wayne. Life motto: “You only live twice — the second time is when you realize you only live once.” Stop and say hello at your next Tipsy Pickle visit!
Pickleball Skill Level: Mentally? 3.3. Realistically? 2.5
Savannah Chilton
Savannah is Tipsy Pickle’s Director of Events, aka the person making all your party dreams come true… or at least turning them into a very organized event order.
Savannah takes picking favorites seriously, so her go-to order is TBD (I know, we’re on the edge of our seats too.). One thing she does know is this: If Savannah were a pickle, she’d be a sandwich-slice dill. Practical. Underrated. The perfect pickle-to-bite ratio. (We told you, she takes this stuff seriously).
Her not-so-useful but sometimes useful skill? She can untangle necklaces unusually fast.
Off the clock, Savannah is hanging with her two pups, Izzy and Beau, hitting the gym, walking the Rail Trail, trying new spots around Charlotte, cooking, or finding another excuse to get a group of people together.
Walk-up song: Oops!... I Did It Again by Britney Spears. Life motto: “We’re only this young once.” Stop by and say hello on your next visit, but hey, leave that tangled necklace at home. She’s working.
Pickleball Skill Level: Is 0 an option? No? Okay - 2.0
Savannah Berntson
Sav is Tipsy Pickle’s Private Event Coordinator, aka the person making sure your party goes according to plan and somehow being in three places at once.
Sav’s go-to order is the Power Play Bowl with vegan chorizo and extra Creamy Avocado Sauce, usually paired with a Stay Classy, San Diego. If she were a pickle, she’d be a dill spear - classic, dependable, versatile, and not trying too hard to reinvent the pickle.
Her not-so-useful but sometimes skill? She can talk to a brick wall. This makes her excellent at keeping a party going (but unfortunately, she works in a brick building).
Off the clock, Sav is usually traveling, playing volleyball, crushing bar trivia, or spending time with family. She’s worked as an event host on a cruise ship, au paired in Spain, and was once a licensed skydiver.
Walk-up song: Live Like You Were Dying by Tim McGraw, which is fitting for someone who has voluntarily jumped out of an airplane. Life motto: “Eh, it’ll be fine." Honestly… feels like it explains the skydiving.
Stop by and say hello next time you’re at Tipsy Pickle, and don’t be alarmed if she’s mid-conversation with a wall.
Pickleball skill level: beginner, but with full confidence
Danny Everett Jr.
Danny is Tipsy Pickle’s Director of Kitchen Operations and proudly the go-to guy behind the scenes. He loves being the face of the kitchen, keeping things moving, and making sure what comes out of it is worth putting your paddle down for.
His current go-to order is the new Double Smash All American Burger. If Danny were a pickle, he’d be a spicy one. Calm, relaxed, and easygoing right up until the kick sneaks up on you (should we be scared?).
His not-so-useful but sometimes useful skill? He can juggle, but only a little.
Off the clock, Danny is usually playing video games or spending time with family and friends. Family is a huge part of who he is, right up there with Tipsy Pickle (no we didn't make him write that. yes it will absolutely be added to his annual performance review).
Walk-up song: All I Do Is Win by DJ Khaled. A bold choice for a beginner, but we respect the confidence. Life motto: “Failing is not an option. Everetts don’t quit.” Stop by and say hey next time you’re in!
Pickleball skill level: 0.0 - Ace in the ring, not on the courts
Jerry, Jer-Bear
Jerry is one of two Kitchen Managers at Tipsy Pickle. He’s the man, the myth, the legend, behind the Happy Place Burger and God-level pickle aioli. He keeps the day-to-day kitchen operations running smoothly, the tacos flowing, and the customers happy.
His go-to order is ground beef nachos and garlic parm wings, washed down with a good ol’ Michelob Ultra. If Jerry were a pickle, he’d be dill - classic, bold, and a little intense. His not-so-useful but really cool skill? He used to be a pro wrestler (so don’t get on his bad side.Just kidding… kinda).
Off the clock, Jerry is a proud dad, jamming out at concerts with his kids, playing golf, or putting on records and chilling at home.
Walk-up song: One by Metallica. Catch phrase: “Hell yeah, brother.” Stop by and say hello next time you’re at Tipsy Pickle!
Pickleball skill level: aspiring 4.0, strong 3.0 for now
Rebecca Mello
Rebecca is the person behind Tipsy Pickle’s marketing and events, capturing the magic, memories, and good vibes every day.
Her go-to order changes daily, but she loves the fried pickles and I Am Mclovin'. If Rebecca were a pickle, she’d be bread and butter (because nothing beats sitting on the beach with a bologna sandwich in one hand and a bread and butter pickle in the other). Her not-so-useful but sometimes useful skill? Breaking into a house with a card (only her own, don’t worry… we’re a little worried).
Off the clock, Rebecca is reading or hanging with friends, family, or her two senior pups, Harley and Nina.
Walk-up song: The Largest by BigXthaPlug (as she gets ready to miss five balls in a row). Life motto: “Too early to worry, too late to cry.” Stop by and say hello next time you’re at Tipsy Pickle!
